The device that worked, what kind (model) was it?
I wonder if TMO looks at the type of device to include model number and since it network knows an 8800 series should be requesting a WiFi cert it denies it. Based on what you say above, it has to be network driven.
I wonder if changing the device to a Curve in the website might trick it into giving up the goods...
