I don't know, but your vodafone browser sounds analogous to the t-zones wap browser on t-mobile. Or maybe medianet on AT&T. Anyway, you are correct, I think, in that it's useless to you for OTA downloads. You *must* use the blackberry browser for OTA. See those links I sent you, and figure out whether you are paying for a blackberry data plan or just generic phone data service, and that will answer many questions.
