If this is the only user affected it could be the mailbox. Sounds like the BES is having trouble reading info from the mailbox. The mailserver could also be busy causing MAPI issues. Check to see if the Exchange server is performing out of normal range, you could setup perfmon and add some counters to check perfomance.

I'm not familiar with using perfmon but it's a great tool for checking Exchange performance.
