Angry Can't Synch my Pearl 8130

Hi

I have a new Pearl 8120 (OS 4.3.067). I've downloaded the latest Desktop software (v4.3.015), but I can't get my blackberry to sync.

I can connect the device and Blackberry Desktop says its connected. It will even let me open Application Loader and I can see the apps installed on it. However, when I go into Synchronise and select Configure Synch... it comes up with the following message:

"Failed to connect to the device. Please make sure that the device i properly connected and try again"

There's no problem with the cable (I use it for my other work Blackberry, and I can view the media card as a drive and can see the apps as per above). I've searched in the forums and can't find anyone with a similiar problem. Does anyone have any suggestions? One thing which I've seen suggested to a different problem is to downgrade to the previous Blackberry Desktop version?

The blackberry is of somewhat limited use if I can't synch it!
