Then it must not be this program that is hogging the port, next time it happens I will send over my logs. Note, I will be sending the phone logs and not the application log since it is other applications that can't get a port out.
A couple of other observations I made, I think it would be nice if this program would start and stop with outlook. I have to VPN into the job to get my mail. There are times when I use my laptop and it is not connected via VPN to the job. When it tries to sync under these conditions I get a pop up error saying it couldn't connect to outlook. I know that, outlook isn't running. I was thinking it would be nice if it didn't try to sync when outlook is not running or if it did, it would do it silently without that pop up.
Also, the phone does a similar thing if it tries to sync and I am on a call. This means it can't get a data connection out. I get a pop up on my phone saying error while trying to sync etc... I think it'd be nice if I didn't get that message and it just tried again later. I also would like to see it keep the last sucessful update on the status screen instead of indicating the last attempt failed.
I think in the end most of us want an application that silently does its thing and will only wave at us under catastrophic failure. We get enough work on the berry with appts, emails, text, calls, IM's etc... I don't need it to tell me I was on the phone so it couldn't sync.
