Rove file manager helps in a pinch, but it's far from ideal. It takes too long to load. I've hidden it in a folder of apps I use infrequently and keep it for FTP only. About the file manager, I've come to realize that I don't really use it. I only need to manage files and folders, if ever, when the phone is attached to the desktop. Then I just use the desktop's file manager.

A good text editor has to launch quickly. I am now using iSilo to store and read all my text files. It won't edit text, but it's great for quick reference. And iSilo converts HTML pages too.
