It would seem that way because the speed limitation isn't really the download speed of the network. Its the performance of the unit, the bb browser, and the speed that the RIM servers render the page for you that limits it. Compare the speed of a WIFI BlackBerry browsing. It is similar in speed to browsing on an EVDO unit. WIFI SHOULD be faster no?

HSPDA/HSUPA is higher performing than EVDO and that is not an opinion. HSPA are considered 3.6G (3.5?) and has a much faster theoretical speed than EVDOs theoretical speed. Lots of people have run performance tests and posted results on the Internet ... and HSPA is always on top. My laptop connect card is a LOT faster than my friends Sprint one.

Bold is a much faster unit with a better browser. You will be able to see the speed difference better with that unit.
