Default 8820 WiFi Diagnostics?

I'm having trouble connecting to WiFi. Is there a way to diagnose the wifi antenna or software on my 8820 to see if its the wifi or the BB? I'm getting an error "Unable to Connect" "Reason: Unknown network failure."

I dropped my 8820 a few days ago, nothing broke, nothing got wet, etc. but now I'm nervous that I may have broken the antenna or something. My old 8700 was bulletproof... the 8820 does not seem nearly as durable - am I correct?

I've pulled the battery, SIM card, etc. and the same results. I had it set to automaticlly roam to saved WiFi profiles and auto-connect, now it seems that it will no longer connect to any WiFi and does not auto-roam although it is still set to automatic.
