A friend of mine on a business trip to US yesterday. He has a Chinamobile branded 8700 (finally, chinamobile starts selling now) which is connected to his company's BES running Lotus domino. His BB was working fine before he left China and he also enable BB roaming feature before his departure. However, once he landed in San Diego yesterday, his BB only showed lower case edge, meaning not connected to RIM server. After lengthy troubleshooting with tech support in Chinamobile, they still didn't have the solution for him. He also did pull battery and resent service book as I suggested him to do, no luck. Do you think it has something to do with the outage in Asia since he is roaming from that area? Basically, will a roaming BES user be affacted by a BIS upgrade/outages in his home region?
