Unlocking is basically removing the restriction on a BB or mobile phone for a specific mobile providers SIM card. If you travel to another country you can use one of their local SIM's in your BB. If your company is "unlocking" it and not the mobile provider, it is probably and ITPolicy and then it would be whatever your company have defined. Speak to the IT guys to find out.
