I've been using my T-Mobile curve now for a little over 6 monthes and it just started giving me a new headache, maybe you guys can help me out.
I'm a cellular phone salesman, and normally I've seen any problem that comes through my door, but this is the first time I've come across this one. My curve just recently began losing the ability to select something with the trackball (I can scroll around just fine, but if I depress the ball, nothing happens). If I let the phone sit for 10 seconds and the screen turns off, and then depress the trackball the caller-id pops up and a "U" appears (or in SMS mode, an "O" appears in the text). The same thing happens with my "Back" key, and my "0" key.
I have tried the soft shutdown, hard shutdown, OS wipe, hardware cleaning, a seriously more extensive hardware cleaning. This is definately a software issue, but with nothing except the software that BB gave it to me with, it's definately not something I did.
I've been reading the random reports of this problem on this forum, but nobody has come up with a solution except the "Warranty" flag. Has anyone found a solution yet?
If there is no other solution, then I'm going to start looking for a new platform. Will the Bold be a more reliable system? What about the 8830?
