utimately why does it matter, both are moving but into different areas. apple is in the consumer market moving into enterprise and RIM owns enterprise and expanding into the consumer market. Like has been said before why does it have to be good vs. evil? pretty stupid to put it in that way.

I completely agree. Both are geared for two completely different markets. iPhone has always been for the consumer market. And BlackBerry has always been for the business one. RIM cannot stay static and cling to mainly business market like they have been for years. The only way to remain profitable with other devices gaining popularity in the corporate sector is to expand in to other areas. iPhone needs the corporate sector as well.
I own an 8gb iPhone AND my 8310 because, unlike some people, I am not closed minded and have a bias hatred. Some people see a name ... and without knowing anything, blindly hate anything that resembles it.
At release I will buy iPhone 2. At Bold release, I will have that too, assuming it won't be $800. Both are geared for different markets. Bold will SUCK as a web browsing and entertainment platform (compared to iphone 2), and iPhone 2 will suck as a messaging and email device.
