Alltel only provides a limited TCP/IP stack, which essentially means that many third party applications will be unable to access the Internet. I also have a BB on Alltel and was very upset when I found out. If you want to get those third party apps working, you'll need to subscribe to a BES/MDS service such as Link2Exchange or Mailstreet (which unfortunately is another $20/month). Hopefully Alltel will realize that all the other carriers have done away with such restrictons and will do the same soon.
