That's not possible to do.
The BlackBerry does not sync email, ever.
New mail is delivered to the device and then reconciled. Old mail will never sync to the device.
If you were on BES and activated the device, some old mail would be pre-populated on the device. Maximum amount of pre-populated mail would be 14 days worth or 750 messages... whichever is greater. (Since you're not on BES, this doesn't apply to you.)
