Thumbs down BBToday/BBLight errors - 06-12-2005, 03:10 PM

Hey all,

I've searched the thread for both errors and did not see anybody else having this problem (atleast the BBToday error) so don't shread me to pieces...

I have a Cingular Blackberry 7280, running OS4.

Most threads mention to try reloading the application when you receive an error. So I've loaded/re-loaded both applications more times than I can count now using Desktop Manager. Here are my errors when lauching each app...

BBToday - "Error starting BBToday: Symbol 'DocumentBuilderFactory.setAllowUndefinedNamespace s' not found."

BBLight - "Error starting BBLight: Module 'BBLight' attempts to access a secure API"

Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome.

Thanks,
J

Hello ... The secure API is interesting. That is if the app was not signed with a RIM key. I know it was since I have tested it.

Remember to take the version from Sourceforge below.

Thanks for your response Vinnie. I tried that and got the same errors on both apps. In fact, I loaded up BBWeather just to test that out and I got the same error as when I try to run BBToday. So I'm missing some component for the weather feature. I just wish I could figure out how to fix it.

Is anyone else having this error? Or seen it?

That is strange .... I have not heard anyone getting that error. I have them all working on my device as do many many other people.

Question Same Problem. - 06-14-2005, 08:50 AM

Hi all,

I have a same problem with BBtoday & BBweather. BBLight works fine on my unit.

I am using Cingular 7290 unlocked unit with T-mobile sim.

All above programs worked fine with my previous unit 7230 (T-mobile)
On 7290, It show error messages with "attemps to access secure API"

Anyone have idea how to solve this ?

Thanks.

Hey Guys,

I got the answer. Upgrade your BB to OS 4.0 and it will work. I read through all threads and upgraded. After that it works like a charm.

Thats odd. I already have OS4 and I still receive the errors. I've pretty much given up at this point. Maybe I'll try again in a few weeks. Thanks everyone for their responses.

Well, I tried again because I really want to get BBLight and BBToday working. Here's a new addition to the mystery. I'm getting the same error below on BBToday, BBWeather and now (newly added to my BB) BBCorrector. I guess I'm just missing a component of the OS?

"Error starting <applicationname>: Symbol 'DocumentBuilderFactory.setAllowUndefinedNamespace s' not found."

I've officially given up
Unless someone has an idea

I would like to add that Ramble kicks a$$. It kills VeriChat in the performance/look department.

Later,
J

BB Light Issue:

I had it set to activate upon 'on user activity', but it failed to work after two days, weird.
I deleted it and reinstalled, no issues as of today.

If you need a location id for BBTODAY go here and type in your city

http://www.aspnetresources.com/tools/locid.aspx

it will give you your location ID
