Default Mobiscope Beta available - 11-03-2007, 02:49 AM

Shape services has launched an interesting program that allows you to monitor webcams connected to PC's direct from your BB. I am sure there will be some concerns regarding privacy issues etc., but look like an interesting concept for people that want to monitor their home and/or work PC's and laptops provided they have a webcam. More information can be found at

Mobiscope - Easy Home surveillance

Going to try it later today, will update post with feedback at that time regarding ease of use, performance, etc.

This is very cool! I installed it just now and was up and running in 10 minutes. Refresh rate is a little slow but it does work. I was only able to get HTTP to connect. TCP/IP, BIS, MDS all failed for some reason.

John,

glad you got it to work. Both the laptop and the desktop that I installed it on were never able to register/login so I gave up and uninstalled everything. Of course I did the obvious things like giving the okay in the firewall etc., perhaps I should try it again. Perhaps next weekend's project, any tips on connecting?
