Default NY Times Shortcut - 11-18-2007, 02:03 AM

If you go to mobile.nytimes.com, down at the bottom, you can add a shortcut to the home screen. However, when I tried to do it, I was told that my device is not currently supported. I have an 8700g that is running 4.1.0.284.

Can someone else try to download the launcher, so I can see which units/OS works with the launcher? I love these little things.

Thanks.

It works on an 8820 running 4.2.2.175. Good find.

Keep it coming.

Is it working on yours, akonitzky? I really don't want to upgrade. I didn't like it and went back to 4.1, but I do want this little launcher. Can more people download it and report back, please?

Has anyone else tried to download the New York Times shortcut? Has anyone been able to download it without being on 4.2? Anybody?

Oh, and I don't why we didn't look before, but in addition to the Fox News Mobile launcher, that was mentioned in this thread http://www.blackberryforums.com/afte...ox-mobile.html there is also a Fox Business launcher.

If you already have the Fox News launcher, go into the page and space down to the Fox Business mobile site link. At the bottom of that page lies another opportunity to add the launcher.

OH! Nevermind! I just tried it and it works!!!

It works now. I have it now. It looks like someone must've alerted them, or they already knew, that it wasn't working for all BlackBerry users. Thanks for getting back to me though.

Now, go download your Fox Business launcher.

Oh, and if the moderators want to change the title of this thread to one about more than just the New York Times launcher, since I am also talking about the very cute Fox Business launcher, I won't mind at all.

Change your browser emulation to Blackberry, it should work then.

Besides Fox and ESPN, I do not know of any other browser shortcuts in news or sports.

There is an ABC News launcher on the mobile BlackBerry home page. It should be the first link available.
