Default EmPower HTML Reader - 11-20-2007, 12:10 PM

I have a new Pearl from Verizon with the 4.3 software. I downloaded a free trial of EmPowers HTML reader but only shows the header and nothing in the body except a line block with "More Infromation" in it. The latest version is for 4.2 software. Does this mean that it won't work on my phone, Handango says its compatible with my phone but that doesn't appear to be the case.

Also, I downloaded a trial version of BBSmart Viewer with the hopes that that would work and although I can read the body of my emails there are a lot of links throughout the email. Is this to be expected or is this not working correctly on my phone as well?

Anyone with some insight or anyone who has the Pearl and has tried these Apps I would greatly appreciate any feedback you may have to offer. Thank you in advance.

I have Empower. It has an option to display links as full links, just words and a third so-called "smart" option. Maybe BBSmart Viewer has something similar that will make the messages more legible.

Do you have the 4.3 OS? My question is really does anyone have a 4.3 OS and utilize either of these programs successfully and if so was there anything in the configuration of your phone that you needed to do to get this to work. Thanks again.

eZainny,

Thank you. This looks good so far. However, when I view sent messages in my messages folder they all come up with a Green box with "Retrieve More" in it. I try to click on it and nothing happens or when I click on the menu key there is no option for more as in regular blackberry email. Am I doing something wrong. The problem that this creates is when I type an email to someone and want to add it as a task, it gets posted as a task but there is no body of the email in the task section.

Also, throughout the email there are still a few long hyperlinks mixed in with text. Is this unavoidable or is something not working correctly. Also, some of the pictures in emails are cut up and in different spots. For example, I had an email from Men's Wearhouse and the shoulder of the man wearing a suit is up top, then there are a few rows of text then the midsection, a few more rows of text and then the legs.

I'm not complaining by any means, I just thought I'd bring this to your attention. Thanks again and have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Peanut gallery here - I thought OS 4.3 was supposed to include native HTML email rendering... what's the deal?

(this is not a comment about EMV/BBSmart, both are fine apps)
