I notice that on my emails the email "quality" is tuned down. It is in a solid font, no images, no smileys or anything. I see a few pay programs available, but I would rather not spend any money. Is there a freeware version of this that will work with my 7250 from Verizon, or is there a setting I can change?

Nothing at the moment that I know of, probably won't be either for a 7250. OS version 4.3 is rumored to allow HTML support - however I don't believe that they will be releasing 4.3 for anything older than a 8700 and probably not even that.
