Seems like it does work with exchange however I've been doing an initial sync for 2hours and 17 minutes. It is still on retreiving outlook data and the status bar is about 50% the way through. Just as I tought it was stuck and going to stop it the status bar advanced one bar.

When you said slowed it down a bit, I guess you mean slowed it waaaay down!</SPAN>

I'm also connected to exchange on the outlook side (I use BIS to OWA for the e-mails), and my initial sync was under 5 minutes . About 100 calendar entries, 50 tasks and 300 contacts. How does that align with what you are syncing to?

Have you tried an offline initial sync?

That's what I did was the offline initial sync. The USB always ended in error.

It finished but it took close to 4 hours. I have about 700 contacts and 300 calendar entries. I guess now I'll see if it works.

Sith, since you have tried ScanPST, safe mode, a last ditch effort could be to use detect and repair, you can initiate it from any office application or from add/remove programs and change the installation, it should require the CD (unless you still have the setup files.) If that don't work you re-create the profile from the control panel and then re-configure the account to use the old PST.

I'm not sure what other tools you can use, unless you have an OST file in there then you could try ScanOST.exe

I just upgraded to 0.7.81, and if I create entries on my laptop they appear on my BlackBerry, however I created a few memos and a calendar item on my BlackBerry and they are not syncing to my laptop.

Also, I only able to press the "Sync Now" button once on my laptop. if I want to press it again I have to restart the application.

Edit: I turned on the Pop-Up notifications, on my laptop it says it is checking the server for updates but it doesn't say that it is executing any updates so it looks like it aint seeing changes on my BlackBerry.

I am going to try and downgrade my app back to the original beta release. The new one is causing my outlook to lock up again. it isnt completely locking this time, it just sits at 99% CPU load for a while.

I had a bit of trouble trying to re-do the initial sync so I un-installed BBerrySync from my BlackBerry and Laptop, I will re-install v0.8.7.1 in a day or two, to continue testing.

Ok, removed the latest MSFT beta service pack for Office and it works again, back down to idle cpu usage of 2%. works like a champ again.

SteveO-we did see some items in your sync queue - 1 calendar add from device to pc, 5 notes-4 of which were deletes and 1 add, 3 task deletes from pc to BB, but I think the problem was that the initial sync data map was never completed properly and prevented the sync from taking place.

Please note that you have to redo the initial sync data map after installing the 7.8.1 build.

Just out of curiousity, in the final product, will there be some sort of encryption between our device or pc to your servers? There are sometimes sensative information that may pass through those servers

Josh, i just sent an email to my team to sign up for the beta and test it out. you might be getting many request emails sometime in the next few days. Also, as an update, the software is working great Something i never noticed before, it will sync draft emails that autosave while typing.

Start the initial sync on the blackberry, using USB sync. Start the connection on the PC for initial sync, using USB. connect the device to the computer and it will connect. Thats the only way i have gotten USB sync working

Josh,

Is this supposed to update contact changes? ie... I added a mobile number to one of my contacts and never saw it update on the device. Should it have updated?

is your device actively running the software? i find that when i boot up i have to launch the software, then leave it running in the background for it to work properly.

I don't see it when I look in the task manager or the open apps but I can't figure out how to launch it other that clicking the icon. So as far as that goes yes it is running but I don't see it in the task manager.

I also found today the calendar is not working. I added a few entries today in outlook and none of them ever made it to the device. I just had to do a manual sync or tomorrow would have been off to a bad start since I have an 8:30...

also, if I check a box on the device is that to make it sync or to make it not sync?

is... The box is empty for email but it seems to be syncing yet the box for contacts and calendar are empty but they don't seem to sync. Am I looking at this backwards?

This is Josh...accidentally hopped on another machine that had another person's login info. Oops!

Sith-the data being sync'd is encrypted. Once the handshake takes place, then the data is flushed from the database and only the ID is kept.

Soap - checking a box means enabling that sync function. Also, the software should start when windows starts up. If you have the contacts sync enabled, any changes should be updated.

Also, BBerrySync behaves similarly to apps like Yahoo and MSN chat, where if the app is minimized and in the system tray next to the clock, then you will not see it as an open application in the Task Manager and won't be able to Alt+Tab. If you click the icon and pull it up as an open window, then you can see the app and alt+tab. Also, you can always check the active processes running, our process is BBerrySync.exe.

Also, a note on the Initial Sync Data Map...we have two options for you, USB and offline file. Off course, the USB option requires that you connect the USB cable to the BB and that you have Desktop Manager installed (but not running) on that computer. The offline file version is where the BB data map file is created and then you have to copy that file to your pc and then the data mapping will take place. I am really surprised hear of an initial sync data map taking hours to complete. I have about 650 items (contacts, notes, etc.) and it takes me around 5 minutes. Also, keep in mind that you need to desktop manager sync right before doing the initial sync data map - which will ensure that both PC and BB are identical.

Dawg - Have you tried the offline initial sync data map? It will need you to use the media manager to move the sync file from the BB to the PC, but would bypass the USB.

Invalid Account, you are not registered with bberrySync Data Server

Anyone else have the same problem? Can anyone help solve this problem

did you put your login information in the options before validating connection? you have to put it on the device now, and in the PC app.

try rebooting the device and then waiting a few minutes before you validate connection. if i launch the app immediately after booting it doesnt connect.
