actually no offense taken, just wanted to explain so that people understand and would keep in mind that it is designed to be an ongoing use app, so there should not be huge queues.

just out of curiousity, what items are ghosted out in the PC app? They all should be in full color if you want them all to sync. To ghost/unghost just click on the icon

When you mention icon, what icon are you speaking of. I think it is more then this since josh did not even see some of my Cal entries even though I saw them in the numbers when i hit sync now on the BB.

I wanted to post a system email that went out, in case some of you don't get it:
Hello BBerrySync Test Team:
As you all know, we are on beta build 0.7.8.1. There are still a few lingering issues that will be addressed in build 0.7.9. For your convenience, I have included the download link to the software below in case some are still on an earlier build.
http://www.bberrysync.com/downloads/...eBetav0781.zip
http://www.bberrysync.com/downloads/...etup_v0781.exe
In addition, we have released a service patch for the 781 build which can be downloaded using the following link. Please have build 781 installed before patching. Here is the link:
http://www.bberrysync.com/downloads/...tch2_v0781.exe
We feel that the product is very close to final release and that is due to all your help - we thank you all very much.
BBerrySync Team
p.s. You will not have to redo the initial sync data map after patching.!!

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8320/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)
What does this patch fix? And I have a question what will beta testers get after the conclusion of the beta period? And what is the future of this great app after the relase of BB Unite?

I have a question concerning the bbsync app on the PC. I don't keep my laptop on 24x7, but I do my desktop. I want to be able to sync all the time. If I move the app to the Desktop; do I have to redo the initial sync again?

Deliverer - Moving the pc app will mean that the initial sync data map has to be redone.
GT5L - This patch includes the licensed Outlook Redemption library for more stable access to the Outlook data files. It also fixes some of the contacts issues raised by some of the beta testers.
What is not addressed yet, but reported, checked out and currently being updated, is the issue of updating Cal dates and times, recurrence and Task status. This next build should be out next week or so - no promises though.
As for the beta testers and getting something out of it, we have not decided what will be the "reward" per se. I hope that testers would do it to help test a product that can bring alot of benefit to BB users and also get a chance to provide feedback on a product that they could eventually be using.

Ok another questions for Josh, what will happen when BB Unite is out? and i wish the program would delete items and put the in the trash can not completely delete them. Say calendar items that have been deleted just disappear and they are no where to be found in the outlook's trash can. And I also wish there was a log we could access to see what ha been done (on the outlook side, i know there is one for bb)

I am certainly no expert on BB Unite, but from limited reading BB Unite is like a Google Sync with some sort of online shared calendar, contacts, etc. It does not seem to OTA sync your BB with your pc Outlook. Perhaps someone else can shed some more light here.
As for your comments, you should send an email to voice your comments, it will certainly be looked at. Also, there is a pc side log. That is the same log that is sent when you send a debug log report from the pc app.

Its not clear from your post - have you done a complete desktop sync, then an initial sync using BBerrySync?
Also, please confirm you have 2 way sync enabled on the phone in the configure menu, and have enabled the different PIM objects on the desktop (you can enable or disable syncing for mail, calendar, tasks, notes, archive and contacts independantly. If the icon is "lit", then its enabled.
I've been running the balloon tips on the desktop, just so I can see the information during the beta - when you add an event on the desktop, do you a balloon tip pop up shortly after you hit save?

Josh,
Whenever I hit the validate connection on the BB, I keep getting the it can't validate because I have an invalid account, you are not registered with BBerrysync data server.
I tried to re-boot the BB then validate again but same thing.

FWIW, I just did the validate connection on my BB, and it worked fine. Possible data point though, I've been on the road for the last week+ and just set everything up tonight, including the patch, before I ever did the first initial install/initial sync/setup. So it might be a function of whether you've done it pre-patch or not, I never did.

Josh, I'm running 7.8.1 with the patch, am able to log in fine, but am having some troubles. Also, due to work pressures, I wasn't able to really start the beta testing till yesterday, so patched 7.8.1 is my only experience so far.
* Email - Either I haven't figured this out, or its simply not going to work for me. A few email anomolies I've seen: - As I'm composing an email on the PC, if I take more than a minute or two to compose it, BBerrySync grabs a draft copy and sends/syncs it to my BlackBerry - even though I end up hitting "send" and never store a draft copy on the PC.
- That draft copy which is sent to my BlackBerry appears on the BlackBerry from a different email address/account than the one I was using and sent the message from.
- Email that I send from the BlackBerry ends up in the inbox of Outlook. That's not useful - to be useful I need mail sent from the BlackBerry to be in the sent folder in Outlook. I can get it into the inbox simply by BCC'ing myself, don't need a program like this to do that.
- I have 4 accounts set to be sync'd - all 4 are POP3 accounts, all coming into Outlook on my PC. Setting up which to sync on the BlackBerry was quite intuitive - on the PC app, I typed in the email addresses, separated by semicolons into the box - was that correct?
* BlackBerry not syncing automatically - I pulled the battery and rebooted after install, per the old 7.4 manual, the only one I've seen. The app is set up on the BlackBerry to be full 2 way sync, but I created a calendar appointment last night on the BlackBerry, and it didn't sync to the PC until today when I opened the BB app and forced a "sync now."

sorry about the old manual, but things are changing so fast, it is hard to keep up.
as for the login issues, we updated some server side code with the patch that is causing some of the people to time out while logging in. Rather than roll back the code, we would ask that those affected hold on for a couple of days till we finish the next build which will be fully optimized for the server side code. Sorry I can't do much else but give you all an update at this time. Thanks.

Client, meet server. Server, meet client. Now get along, you two!
Biggest pain the butt w/the software teams that I work with is keeping the client and server connections/communication in sync. Bleah...thanks for the update, Josh.

And meanwhile, although my login to the server works fine, my BlackBerry refuses to sync unless I open the app and do a "sync now" manually.
