I completely understand your reasons, but I eschew proprietary protocols. It's my opinion that forsaking SyncML to roll your own locks in all persons to your solution, providing no migration path to another server if yours goes down, offline, etc. But I also realize this may be your intent and business model, so respect it.

With regard to the Nexthaus product, I see the main difference is the email sync. I have not been able to test the product to give a more detailed answer.
Correct, it doesn't do email (which isn't really part of any need, email is handled completely differently on a device than calendar/contacts/memo/tasks).

Thanks for the reply.

Default Looking for SyncML friendly app for BB Pearl 8130 - 11-28-2007, 10:45 PM

I have had issues with the Nexthaus/SyncJE application, in that it spams everyone who I have scheduled, accepted or rejected a meeting with, every time it syncs. I have worked with their VERY FRIENDLY support team - online chat 24x7 - and after trying some of the fixes in the GUI, the only solution left was to remove a service book. This seemed a bit like hacking the OS, so I have left SyncJE for now - a future release may have a better fix - no time yet.

Long story short (too late? Sorry!) - I am looking for a BB app that can sync my calendar and contacts (I have email covered, thank you). If this program can satisfy my needs, I will gladly test.

Features include:

. OTA Sync sent mail between computer on Outlook (laptop/desktop) and BB device (off course incoming mail is taken care of by BIS)
. OTA Sync contacts, Notes, Tasks with Outlook

Some Design Aspects to keep in mind:

. BBerrySync was designed for users previously using BIS and Desktop Manager - basically, you already have a foundation to begin with
. If using BBerrySync to sync with Outlook OTA for the first time, it will take time depending on the size of your personal folder (BB SDK does not make the data pipeline very big for others to use )
. You will need to sign up for a sync server account with us to handle the routing

We believe this product is what BIS users have always needed to free them from the USB cable!

If you are interested in signing up for the beta testing, please post name in thread and BB device. We intend to have 10 testers and prefer a spectrum of devices. Our website will launch within the next two weeks and the selected testers will be able to sign up for an account, download the application and sync away.

Thank you very much for your time.

Was calander an oversight or does this not sync the calander?

I am thinking of getting off the company BES and going with this?

Thank you all for your interest in the BBerrySync product - which was much more than we had anticipated. Using the criteria of first come first serve, we have taken the first 10 posters on as beta testers. In addition, we have taken on a further 10 posters based on their phones and/or carriers that we felt would give us a broader spectrum of testers.

We will deploy our site at 5pm Pacific Standard Time on Friday, December 7, 2007, at which time we will send all the beta testers the instructions on how to download and install the application. Before then we will be in contact with the beta testers to collect pertinent information to set up your sync accounts (pin, etc). Thank you all for your interest.

Just curious - will this be a software purchase only? Not sure what you mean by "You will need to sign up for a sync server account with us to handle the routing". Does that mean a monthly charge as well?

As you all can imagine, we are working very hard to deploy both the beta software as well as beta website. Can the beta testers please PM me with their email address (the primary email of their Blackberry device and their BB Pin number). We will be creating accounts for each tester with the same username as their Blackberry forums screen name.

Also, sorry for the misspelling of your screen name, outwism. You are in the beta test group.

Thank you.
