might get a couple more bites if you post details of the software rather than a link. or it could be just me but i like to just quickly browse the features before clicking to a new site.

Default Description of the service and software

Sith_Apprentice, to use the service you download a small application over-the-air to your Blackberry. Then you can send and reply to e-mails and SMS msgs with your voice. It works the same way as the current e-mail and SMS features on the BB.
In otherwords we install menu's in the Address application, phone and e-mail client apps. to "Send Via EXA", "Reply Via EXA" etc. So for example, say you have an e-mail selected that you want to reply to. You have it open and select the menu item "Reply Via EXA". Then you simply say what you want the msg to be. This gets transcribed and sent as a well formed e-mail within minutes. You get a Bcc of the sent e-mail. Accuracy is excellent you can be assured. The sender and recipient information is not seen by the person transcribing. Also, we will soon be offering the ability to use your own inside person to support your organization's mobile needs if wanted.

It is worth mentioning, that we are about to release for "beta trial" a PC dictation application that also doubles as an e-mail application. This will allow those with lots of e-mails to dispose of daily, to do so with voice if they wish. It will work with GMAIL and other POP/IMAP services like COX or Verizon. This like the BB application can be utilized with our transcribers or your own. A great way to make more effective use of a secretary or assistant, to delegate tasks, and to generally speed your e-mail tasks by an order of magnitude. It doesn't replace typing it compliments it. You use it at the times and instances where it makes sense to.

If you are interested in a try it account for the BB app. or interested in taking part in the upcoming Dictation App. Beta then go to our website via link above and send us an e-mail with your info..

i tried it..........first problem, is it stores all the recordings in the device memory. why does it need to save them? and if it does than save it or at least give an option to save to media card.

Bigger problem, i tried to send myself via EXA thru sms and email and neither ever came....
also the instructions to record are thru the earpiece and i barely heard them. use the speakerphone or put more info on the screen other than click here when done.
the link for the quickstart manual is broken

i would love to see this operational. looks like it has potential.

Default Not intended for sensitive information

The service is not meant, nor should be used, for highly sensitive information, but rather casual, quick, business or personal e-mails of a general nature.

Nextel User, if you had any issues I'm wondering why you didn't contact our support, we would have been happy to assist you to get the most from the service. However to address your issues:

Per the link to the Quickstart guide, the link to it on the homepage is working, not sure why the link in your e-mail didn't. We will fix this immediately if indeed it has an issue.

Per the saving of the audio files. They can easily be deleted, but your suggestion is heard and we will do something to make saving an option.

Regarding not hearing the prompt, we intentionally do not enable the speaker phone because some people hold the phone to their head when speaking the message.

Per the msg not arriving, do you have a data plan? It requires a data plan for the audio to be sent. You are the first to report a missing e-mail/sms. I use it regularly and haven't had issues. The current hours of operation are 3:30AM - 7PM PST (16 hours per day). As the user base grows we can move to 24 hours.

The service really is quite easy, accurate and effective. If you e-mail [email address] we will be happy to quickly get you up to speed.

No issues for me, I haven't used it. It is just a weird service. While every other service is sort of eliminating people from the equation, yours incorporates them fully, as dictators of anything from "So, tranformers at 3?" to business email.

I thought that this sort of thing was on its way to electronic voice recognition/dictation. I don't know. I could be way off, but I think people will be a little weirded out knowing that their messages are being transcribed by actual people, listening. Either a message will be too pety for this kind of treatment or too important for the security. I know you say it is secure, and I beleive that they are not going to rush and blog the things they hear, but just knowing their is an ACTUAL middle man. Hm.

I did, however, send an email requesting a trial. Maybe I'll be convinced otherwise.

Speech recognition software does not work well excepting in those very finite vocabulary speech applications such as looking up movie times or entering a credit card number. Real continuous speech contains millions of possible combinations, one has to understand changes in intonation, speed of the speaking, and many other things that our brains do very well, but software cannot do. There is indeed speech recognition that works well on the PC, but it is not for the casual user. If you want to send msgs with Voice, don't count on any software that can really do it well under anything but the most controlled and perfect conditions. True speech recognition, seriously, won't exist until computer programs and hardware are designed to process information similar to how our own brains do.
