Wow, thanks!I thought I was going to hear an "out of luck" response!
For what its worth, I don't need to load images anyway so if I can at least navigate to turn them off I'll probably be in good shape (if I'm understanding that this problem is solely related to images)

Quick question, is there any way to disable the auto signature from being automatically attached to each email I send, I can't really use this software if it will keep doing this, I know the older version had the option to disable this function, but I am not able to find it in the beta.
Great work by the way

shambasha - you do not find that because there is NO signature in this version !

Thanks,
Ani.

Hi Ani,

Just want to let you know that I got the firewall message even when cache was in internal memory. It happened either on the last beta, or the next to last beta.

I don't know if you can create a way around it, but it would be great if you can. I use Opera Mini and with the firewall disabled, I have to answer a question for Opera Mini each time it starts up. If I enable the firewall, that question goes away.

Thanks and looking forward to the official release.

In options I noticed I couldn't select the colour of the main text, just the quoted text and signature.

Will we be able to choose the colour of the main text in the purchased version?

Ani,
I love the new version. One slight issue: When I open a message, I cannot delete it with the delete key. Is there a way to add that functionality? I find it very convenient, as I assume most others do, to be able to delete a message from within the open message itself, by simply hitting the delete key.

Thanks.

One suggestion...when changing colors the "window" that overlays the background items you are adjusting is so big that you can only see a tiny sliver of the example...decrease the width of that overlay so more of the text is visible...

Very nice, my wife is quite happy with this app. I like the formatting/layout of the email contents little a more w/BBSmart, but the speed of the Empower viewer is as good or better, and the inline loading of images in Empower is superior to the way that BBSmart handles them.

(I'm using the policy.bin file from another thread here)
if you are on BIS? why do have the policy.bin?

was this a locked phone?

more history of the phone please. did it belong to a BES once?

I bought the phone off of eBay. I had trouble installing some programs so I assumed it was on BES before I bought it and installed the policy.bin. Now I'm sort of stuck with these firewall messages and I can't get rid of them. From what I have gathered my only options are to install 4.3 once it becomes available for the pearl, or find someone on a BES that can push a blank policy to me. Not sure how to achieve that though! My BB knowledge is limited being a former wm user for a long time.

My first update experience went smoothly - this new version is packed with so many cool features...

Thanks for adding font smoothing options.

OK now that you've explained it it's most likely that the device just needs a good reinstall of the firmware, who knows what the previous owner did to it. I don't want to threadjack this away from EMV so I'll just give you a hint to look for 'JL_Cmdr' and the sections in the FAQ about how to wipe your device and reinstall the OS fresh. Once you do that all your problems should magically go away. If you need more help, followup to an old thread or whatever - let's not deter this thread from EMV things.

When you upgrade, it appears to delete all your settings...it would be best if the upgrade process could retain settings.

The settings option has been added to the BB menu when in an email...good to see that.

I had the same experience with this upgrade putting all my settings in Empower back to their defaults.

Fortunately I was able to get the notification of this update without having to reset my firewall settings.

Thanks,

Mark

Aha, thanks for the advice! I'll try this later tonight, and hope to have fresh firmware in time for the release tomorrow

nyubi - We are with-holding that feature in this release because Reply mode in OS 4.3 can cause a number of issues. It will not be available on the Pro version.

Best,
Ani.

So the PRO version is the new version of Empower?

When in doubt, empty the magazine...
