Thumbs up ??? Apps compatable with the new v4.3.0.71 ??? - 12-01-2007, 01:48 AM

How about we start a list of apps that are compatable with the newer 4.3.0.71 version on the 8130 Pearl.

I bought mine last week, (first day it came out) from Sprint. I have nothing other than what it came with, but I really need an email app and maybe a browser.

Why do you need an email app or a browser? The 8130 (and every other BB) has both built in.

Emails are hard to read and the browser is difficult to read also. It looked like the email apps made it easier to read emails from the bb device. I just wanted to try them to see if it made a difference.

Are you inferring that I should be satisfied with what I have since nobody makes software for my v?

Yes it is. And I must say, while I am extremely pleased, it is a bit overwhelming.

I must have installed my desktop manager incorrectly. I just downloaded the CCSmart email from the phone and it worked without issue. but when I try to load it from the app loader I receve the following message:

"No additional applications designed for your device were found"

From the Application Loader Wizard I click on the 'Add' button and find the app to be downloaded and select it then click on the 'Open" button. This is when that error pop-up occurs.

You can search for more detailed info, but in short you need to install the OS files that match the phone onto your PC, they're required in order to use the desktop apploader. Now for the bad news - Sprint hasn't released the firmware installer for you and your 8130 yet:

Those of us with new 8320's from T-Mobile, for instance, had the same problem when it was very first released; there were no 8320 firmware installers available. We had to twiddle our thumbs for a bit until they got their butts in gear and released it, you'll pretty much have to do the same...
