Default Ascendo DataVault version 4.36 - 12-05-2007, 01:20 PM

With my Blackberry 7520 as my portable office, "Don't leave home without it", I must say that Ascendo's DataVault is best Blackberry personal data storage application that I have ever used, bar none. Great product guys ...

I got that same dump code once. I think it may have to do with the fact that my prvious version of DataVault had not uninstalled completely. I did another uninstall, the searched for any common folders that may have ben left behind, deleted those, re-installed the desktop app, and it has worked fine ever since.

Does anyone know where the release notes are for 4.36? The Ascendo site still has Version 4 listed as the latest, and it appears to have only the features that were made available in the first V4 release.

Also I cannot find a formal 4.36 announcement anywhere. I found it purely by accident, as usual, when I visited the Ascendo site to check.

An easier way to check for updates is my only feature request for the next update.

Jim

I must say I got the Ascendo Data Vault threw Handago on free App Friday and it is a real step up from the Password utility that comes with my Blackberry. Customizable templates fully customizable. I may have to for this new versions, although I have not had any problems or errors messages at all.

Has anyone ever been able to get DataVault to fill web login forms on their Blackberry device?

I have tried on just about every one that I have entered in DV and none have ever filled the forms.

Writing to Ascendo got no help - the reply was "Doesn't it work on Gmail?" It does not. Nor Google Calendar, nor Vitalist, nor this very forum!

Is there some technique to it that is not explained in the manual? I see that DV does not actually call the web form itself, but a copy of it somehow. Is there anything special that you do there to make it fill automatically the next time or anything?

I asked that of Ascendo Support and told them what I am seeing. That reply said "Thanks for detailed info, we will research and let uou know." I guess they thought I was just passing info on, but I would love to know how this is done, or if anyone has actually done this successfully.

Thanks.

Jim

I have read the release notes and they hype that you can fill in web forms on BB. Definately doesn't work for me.

Hmm.. I wonder if it works for anyone, or if we are just doing something wrong.

Though I have never seen any specific instructions for it. Oh well...

Thanks.

I wanted to give the Ascendo guys a big Thank you! I had a minor problem this weekend and decided to fire an email off thinking I would get an answer sometime after the holiday season, which was fine with me. Nope I got an answer within about 2 hours, and we exchanged emails 4 times over the weekend until the problem was resolved. Its hard to find this kind of support anywhere now a days, and almost impossible from the smaller entities. A huge thank you from me, and I will always use your products from this point going forward. Great product, even better CS, keep rockin it!
