no problems here. Always try pulling your battery and rebooting.

Strange. I had no problems before 2.0.6

I deleted, reset the device and installed again. No luck.

Yes, you must have APN set for BeamBerry to work. I thought.

Thats it! I've never had configured BIS and beamberry used to work!! looks like beamberry lost BIS access. That's sad.

Best,
Jaime

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830: BlackBerry8830/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105 UP.Browser/5.0.3.3 UP.Link/5.1.2.1)

Hmmmm
I am with 2.00
I do not know how new the upgrade is.
I do remember that I would sometimes have problems if I used a newer upgrade at the beginning of a cycle.

Beware, I've had 2.0.0 installed and no had problems. Just read this thread and upgraded to 2.0.7 but it locks up my Curve after I try to download a document from the server. It hoses Email and BB Messenger until I pull the battery and reset.

Does it every time I use BeamBerry now. Rats, wish I still had the old version.....

This reply just in:

Quote:
Thank you for your note. We have made some significant improvements related to handling of connections and so we urge everyone to upgrade. The most current release of BeamBerry is 2.0.7 that can be downloaded OTA from http://beamberry.com/download.

Users should make sure that they download 2.0.7 and not an earlier version that might still be cached by their BlackBerry browser. To do that, once you see the download page with the buttons "Download" and "Cancel", hold the "Alt" key and click on your trackwheel. When the menu comes up, select "Refresh". Then you should see the version change from 2.0.X to 2.0.7. Then click on the "Download" button. Make sure to Restart your BlackBerry after the upgrade. Please let us know if that works.

Sincerely,

BeamBerry Support Team

That's strange - I upgraded from 2.0.3 to 2.0.7 last night after posting that, and it's working just fine... (checking again right now...) yup, works fine on my 8320 (OS 4.2.2.180) over wifi. Even wifi that has been idle all night! (different problem/solution).

Try uninstalling, battery pull, reinstalling, battery pull, then launch the app from your menu; it should reconnect and populate your filelist as the first step. I also went to Options -> Registration to make sure it picked up my previously entered info (which it did), can't be too careful. (I also reduce my cache to the smallest value, 3meg)

Have done all of the above and still no joy. Uninstalled the download, verified the new download as 2.0.7, restarted, and it just sits and grinds away but no attachment. I do get a blue outlined box and the message 75% loaded but it stops. If I go to show page it just grinds away for several minutes and then get message server connection refused. Note 2.0 was working perfectly for me.

My above reply was to another 8320 owner where I know we're roughly on the same setup, but your device is an entire different OS and design, the problem might not be related in the same way (and I can't help much, sorry). I'd try emailing [email address] and working with them, they don't bite.

Ditto, same here. Version 2 was fine for me too. I've tried the same. un-installed, pulled the battery, re-installed, verified the version, and identical problems.

PS - I'm thumbing a T-Mobile Curve on a corporate network.

That might be it - BES data connection snafu, definitely you want to email support... (assuming your BES admins haven't changed the config in some way blocking your access)

Default It works again - 12-10-2007, 01:57 PM

I contacted Beamberry support and they got back to me! They sent a link that they requested not to be shared for a new download, went to the link, downloaded and Beamberry is back, faster than ever. What a great product!!

Cool! Did they give an indication what is/was going wrong, and are they working on a fix for it?

Same here, the link seemed to fix the problem. I see now there's a version 2.0.8. but.........I think I'll just stick with what I've got for now...

Default Battery issues with BeamBerry!! - 12-15-2007, 07:14 PM

Hello, I downloaded this program earlier today and started playing around with it. I have noticed my battery dropped significantly today. I have an extended battery that will last roughly 4-5 days with the use that I give it. I will normally see a drop in battery power of 15-20%....when I installed beamberry, I was at 95%, 10 hours later, I was getting my low battery alarm sounding. I am to the point that I never even check my battery meter unless my phone hasn't been charged for at least 3 days in a row, I just don't need to check it. Has anyone else had an issue like this with beamberry?

I notice that when I try to close the program it seems that it really doesn't close. When I press Alt-Esc to switch programs, beamberry is still there, it never really seems to shut down completely, is this normal?

I can't speak to the battery usage but it's normal for it to not quit; the app has a hook into the Messages applet, which means because Messages is running it's running (just like Empower Mail Viewer). I do know an app can have an ALT + ESC icon but not actually be running, the Mobipocket Reader is like that - shows in the task list but isn't actually loaded into memory.
