does anyone know of any email encryption programs that can be installed on newer 7000+ blackberry models? preferably ones that dont have a monthly subscription cost?

Emails are still not encrypted as they leave the BlackBerry network.

It is important for people to realize this - there are solutions for S/MIME on the BlackBerry, but AFAIK no way to utilize PGP/OpenPGP on the BlackBerry.

Use of S/MIME requires a BES with the apporpriate policy.

Desktop Redirector provides 3DES encryption.

ONLY TO THE BLACKBERRY.

NOT when the email LEAVES the wireless network. It isn't good enough for some people to only encrypt the communication to the BlackBerry. Some people also need to provide encrypted email all the way to the recip to properly authenticate it.
