Since I was curious, I figured others might be... so..

-XColorEvent you can download on a trial basis for 7 days, purchase price is $7.00.

-xPlayer is free. You can download OTA or App Loader.

-xTemplate is free. Looks like you can download it using App loader, but it's OS specific. You can OTA it, but there's only one option OTA, so unsure how it'll work.

Is there anything new in this release or is this just to announce that Shape is now hosting the software? Wasn't XColorEvent free before?

GoCryWolfe, OTA download is device specific, that's why you see only one option.

Entropy666, SHAPE Services hosts xPlayer, xColorEvent and xTemplate.

xColorEvent was free in beta. After the beta-testing was finished, it became commercial.

Xplayer wouldn't play any videos on my Pearl...the internal player played them fine, Xplayer would load them to its playlist, but when played the movie time counter would just sit at zero.

Default My thoughts on all three apps - 12-14-2007, 11:26 AM

First, thank you so much for making this software available.

xPlayer:

Two problems spotted on my T-Mo 8100. First, the app keeps turning the backlight on at intervals, but not quickly enough to keep up with it. In other words, I get a minute or so of bright light, followed by a minute or so of dim light. This goes on for about 15 minutes.

At that point, the screen goes nuts. That is, the video part is fine and keeps playing, but the blank "full screen" area above and below shows the playlist again, and in a messed-up color bleeding sort of way.

These problems happen no matter what movies I play.

xColorEvent:

Sometimes this app gets confused. For example, I have mine set up to display a red trackball if my husband calls or emails. However, the person who calls directly after he does will also trigger a red trackball. (Not sure if that also applies to the emails.)

Also it would be worth every penny you're asking, for me, if it also caught text messages. But since it doesn't, and that's about a third of my communication with others, I really can't justify the expense. I want to be notified every time someone contacts me (ideally with the trackball as opposed to the LED, since the trackball stands out more), not just when they call or email.

xTemplate:

If this created templates for, and integrated easily with, SMS text messages, I'd be in heaven. I don't see me using it much with email, however. Maybe if I were in sales or something.

I am pleased with what I've seen so far from your efforts and I look forward to continuing to test your products.

I've been using the beta since it was introduced and love it. I will be getting the new one next week.

Hello,

xPlayer supports next file formats: mp3, m4a, avi, mp4, 3gp, wma, amr, mid, wav.

Could you please specify what file formats you used. We would be glad to add them in future updates if the are not listed above.

Thank you in advance.

Default xTemplate not working correctly? - 12-18-2007, 07:31 PM

Installed xTemplate and can launch the app just fine. Can toggle between email templates and text templates just fine too. Problem is when I go to create either an SMS or Email by using the template from the pop-up menu, all I get is the Email templates and can't find a way to toggle to get the SMS templates. Otherwise looks like a handy little application. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Hello, as I understood your question, the application gives a command to light-emitting diodes (LED), located under the trackball, to illuminate with specific color.

I hope I answered your question

We expect xColorEvent to illuminate when SMS is recieved and xTemplate to create SMS in following updates.
