Default New SUPER Basic Task Manager. Need BETA testers - 12-24-2007, 07:19 AM

Hey everyone,

There were a few requests for a super basic task manager so I stepped up to the plate and released one.

If you'd like to give it a quick shot feel free to download it: http://www.ryannickel.com/BBApps/BBTaskManager/dist.zip

[EDIT]
I have added the requested screen shots.

The first one shows you what the main screen looks like. As you can see you'll get a list of all your tasks in your task list, with a checkbox on the left hand side. If the box is checked the task is complete. Otherwise you still have to complete it.

The next screen shows you the menu. Again I am really trying to KISS (keep it simple, stupid). To add a new task press "New"

The final screen shows you the "add task" screen. This screen should look very familiar to everyone (as it's the built in screen for task management).

This means that you can keep your desktop sync working perfectly!

Please keep in mind that this is just a first release, and I have many plans to make this into a full fledged GTD system.

If you have any problems, questions, suggestions please PM me or reply to this thread.

Thanks!

I second the screenshots. Would like to see how it is like before I download. I would be willing to beta test it.

A third for screenshots, and perhaps a bit of detail on what this program accomplishes.

You can't load an ALX file to your BlackBerry, that is for loading to your PC, and then using Desktop Manager to load to your PC.

I'm having the same problem. I tried to load it through the Desktop Manager, it gave me an error, it's listed under applications, but nothing. Is this OS specific? I'd love to beta test it.

hrmm, it runs on my 4.2.2.89 Curve

It's different in that you can just get at your tasks quickly to mark them complete (for now)

In the future I'll separate them into their categories, then when one is marked complete, I'd like to be able to assign a contact that you'd like to notify, then have an email go out (if you so choose)

How is this any different then just loading the BB Tasks program and hitting the space bar to complete a task? To add a task, just type it in, and it adds it. It's very simple. I don't know how you could even make it more simple.

Well like I said, this is just a first run to what I want to do. This will become a more full fledged GTD style task system.

However this is the core of the system and I want to make sure it's bug free before I move on.

Question Will it be accesible from the today screen? - 12-28-2007, 01:52 PM

I really want a today screen that LISTS my tasks. I used to have a pda with spd diary that would do this and I loved it. I currently have Pocket day, but I do not love it. I just want my tasks to be listed for the day - just as you can have appointments listed on the today screen. I do not want to have to go into another screen to see my tasks. Will your software do this? If so, I would love to be a beta.

Does this sync with BES OTA like the original RIM app?

Verizon 8703 > 9530 (fatally flawed) > 8703 > Niagara someday
