When are you going to intergrate the sounds into the BB Profiles? I got bit recently forgetting that I had IM+ running, hit my profiles set to Quit and then someone IMs me. Bing... Ooops I said grabbing the BB.
Yeah the shortcut for mute will be nice but it is just not the same....

SHAPE,
Great progress improving on the IM+ software. Especially improved battery life, which is one of the most important attributes of chat software to me. I now need to re-review IM+ compared to JiveTalk.
While low priority, someday, one thing I'd love to see added eventually is File Transfer support. It may not be that important, but I've started using File Transfer a lot more now that I got the Curve which has the built in camera. I love transmitting my cameraphone photos to my desktop MSN contacts; works great on my Curve. They are impressed I can transfer files directly from a cellphone. (Albiet 500 kilobyte images from the 2 megapixel camera does take about one minute to transmit, I can at least chat simultaneously in JiveTalk while the file transfers.)

Mark, IM+ has a kind of "file transfer". You have to go to Settings > Advanced, and check the box next to "Integration with RIM file browser". It won't send big pics, though. I used camera settings: "Small" and "Superfine". I just sent one via GTalk. It works by sending a web link, which recipient clicks on. Sending is real fast, about 5 seconds.
I guess because it is a link, it should work with the other IM's. Tomorrow I'll try ICQ, AIM, MSN and Yahoo.
I'd like to hear if someone can get it to send 500KB pics like JiveTalk can.
IM+ is not perfect but I like it more than JiveTalk.

This new version is really good. I'm still waiting for two things, alert sounds integrated with the BB profiles, and Skype chat support.

Hello don.new,
We will think about integrating sound alerts with the BB profiles.
If you are a fan of Skype let me draw your attention to another application that we have developed - IM+ for Skype that enables voice and text communication with other Skype users and provides cost-effective calling to landlines and mobiles.
Thank you and regards,
Irene

Yes I use IM+ Skype but it would be so much better to have it included in the All-in-One product don't you think?

Yes, I am sure it would be better.
Due to technical reasons it is not possible for now. Still it is a great area for development.
Thanks for your thoughts.

Hi xxxdev or SHAPE,
Is it possible to configure IM+ to use ONLY WiFI? I have a mobile data plan with my 8320, but it's not unlimited, and I spend most of my time in or around WiFi hotspots. I'd like to be able to configure IM+ to only connect when WiFi is available, and to never use the cellular data service, so I can save my data bytes.

Hello KeyLoveMobile,
Please set a BB transport as "default". If that won't work please wait until the new version is released with a Wi-Fi support.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for your very quick response, Irene. I think I will have to wait for the new version, because I think a setting of "Default" will do the same as many apps: it will use Wi-Fi while available, but then will switch to cellular transport automatically when Wi-Fi goes away. I'd like it to disconnect instead.
I don't want to ask, but I can't help myself... are you working on a version with Wi-Fi support, or is that merely a feature on a wishlist for the future?

Anyone know how to delete a service (account) that was set up on IM+?
I can edit it, but haven't figured out how to delete it. I can't blank it out and save, del key doesn't work, menu key has no delete option.
e.g.: say I set up a Yahoo service:
John Doe
id: ![[email address]](http://www.blackberryforums.com/?emailimage=16694c2d5f6d5a4b7ffb5d50496bee00)
pw: *******
How do I delete it entirely so that it doesn't appear with the services?

Hello Klotar,
Please go to Services-> Account set up.
Then select the account you want to delete, press Menu button and choose Delete.

So, how come after downloading, my Pearl just keeps repeating the reboot process? Did this software just brick my phone?

Hello mercc79,
We are aware of this issue, still it is out of our scope, we have contacted RIM about it, they promised to investigated it, but we still haven't received any explanation.
We have a special version on the website for Pearl 8130 OS 4.3 here or go to our wapsite, there you will see only one compatible version: wap.shapeservices.com.
If your BlackBerry is OS 4.2 please provide me your email address (you can PM me), I will send you the proper version.
To restore your device please follow the steps:
1) Download the latest version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager
https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...93E4F3BB068C22
2) Set up RIM OS version for your device on the Desktop
BlackBerry Operating System Downloads - BlackBerryFAQ
or BlackBerry - BlackBerry Desktop and Device Software Download Sites
3) Delete the file vendor.xml from C:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
4) Remove the battery from the handheld, do not insert the battery, follow the steps below.
5) Connect the device to the Desktop via an USB cradle.
6) Launch the Desktop Manager -> AppLoader.
7) Select the appropriate RIM OS optional components and start the process.
8) While the loading is in process, insert the battery.
9) After the loading is over, Desktop Manager will reset the device and the first device loading may take up to 20-30 minutes, while you see hourglass on the screen. This is normal.
After the reload everything should work fine.
You can read more here
How To: ReInstall OS When Computer Won't Recognize The Device Is Connected - PinStack.com - BlackBerry forums
Do not hesitate to contact me if any questions arise.
We are always ready to help.

Cannot Remove Repeated Account -
04-25-2008, 12:36 PM
In a previous Post someone mentioned you could remove an account by going under ACCOUNT SETUP selecting MENU KEY and DELETE ACCOUNT
I am setting up IM+ (just bought it) on my bosses phone
I entered her account infor for AIM twice (By mistake) I am trying to get rid of the second instance but there is NO DELETE OPTION anywhere.
Running latest version of IM plus
HELP !
I already attempted deleting the app from the phone althogether and reinstalling but it keeps the Account information

SHAPE, it appears that you have a separate app for connecting to Lotus Sametime like you do for Skype:
IM+ for Lotus Sametime :: BlackBerry :: Products
I have some questions:
1. Is there any integration of Sametime into the regular IM+ client?
2. If it's a separate client, I assume that we'd need to purchase a licence for both (ie purchase 2 licences)? If so, is there a discount for getting both?
3. When you get the full WiFi support in IM+ that we talked about earlier, will the IM+ Sametime client also be updated with the WiFi support?

After starting up IM+, highlight Services,
Click Menu key, select Account Setup,
Highlight the AIM account that you want to delete,
Click the Menu key,
Should be three choices: Select, Delete, and Close.

IM+ for Sametime is not supported anymore. We are removing it from e-shops and will not add any additional functionality.

You can purchase the current version of IM+ for ST from Handango.
You would need to purchase 2 licenses (for IM+ anf for IM+ ST)
Unfortunately there no discounts.

That's unfortunate. I was excited when I discovered it, but obviously now I'll be looking for another solution rather than pay for an end-of-life product.
If I may ask, why have you ceased support and development on the product?

KeyLoveMobile,
Support of this product requires a lot of technical costs. Our resources are in the development and improvement of other our applications. We strive to provide the most qualitative services, that's why we decided to set it aside, still we might get back to it, so I would say that it is an end-of-life product

Hi Irene,
I notice that IM+ has been upgraded to version 5.2.6... the Change Log indicates WiFi support, but with the note that it's for OS 4.3. Is it not supported on 4.2?
Also, can it be set to only use the WiFi connection like I'd hoped?

KeyLoveMobile,
Wi-Fi support doesn't work under OS lower than 4.3, it is technically impossible.
The IM+ interface doesn't have an option to use Wi-Fi only. If the Wi-Fi zone will be lost, IM+ will try to connect via other connection type. If the other connection type is unavailable or set up incorrectly IM+ will not connect, but will keep trying reconnecting, until you stop this process by yourself.
We will think about using Wi-Fi connection only.

guys, what about a facelift, with the actual symbols of the IM account ala JT and the new Instango, the little green guys seem a bit simple ala Mundi IM, and I'd like to see Facebook chat suppport, this is the biggest thing for me, has Facebook made their protocol or api public already and I also I'd like to see themes
BB Profile support guys, this one is kind off basic, any simple little app has profile support except you guys
Looking forward to some improvements

One more thought with the coming release of Windows Live Messenger along with the email as thru bis, 3rd Party app have to bring something way cool, either the app looks awesome graphically enough to pull the user or the functionality is superb or a nice mix of both with basic things the public wants otherwise, its gonna be a tough one, I'm confident IM+ will come up with something big real soon, hopefully

Dalecon, to edit security permissions on your Blackberry please do the following:
1. Open Options -> Security -> Application Permissions
2. Select IM+
3. Select Edit Permissions from the menu
4. Configure the Security Permissions to "Allow" for all categories.
5. Save the changes
Then please try to launch IM+ once more.

KeyLoveMobile,
Wi-Fi support for IM+ on OS 4.2 is still impossible. But our techs have done some research, and they can manage a Wi-Fi support on OS 4.2 in the next IM+ version.
Keep in touch
