starts beta-testing of new project - GPSed
The project is on beta stage, so we are waiting for your feedback.
GPSed is a location-based service for trip tracking from BlackBerry devices. It works with GPS techology and brings more functionality to BlackBerry devices.
First letís define what GPS is. GPS
stands for Global Positioning System. It is based on the network of satellites that continuously transmit coded information, which makes it possible to precisely identify locations on earth by measuring distance from the satellites. You can use GPS easily and free of charge. All you need is a GPS receiver either built in your Blackberry or an external once.
8130, 8310, 8800, 8820 are equipped with built-in GPS receivers. What advantage can you take of GPSed?
You can add more functionality to your Blackberry, e.go: * Tracks saving:
record tracks of your trips anywhere on the Earth from your BlackBerry. Your tracks will be traced on Google Maps and stored in an online archive or in your BlackBerry. * Real-time tracking:
show to your friends the instant position on a map when you are traveling * Geotagging:
Pin digital photos to a map precisely at a place they were taken. It will work both for photos captured with your Blackberry or with another digital camera.
