Beiks LexSpell

Anyone encounter the following message from Beiks' LexSpell: "This copy of LexSpell is outdated, get a new copy at http://mobile.beiks.com"? I tried reinstalling the application, but to no avail.

Can't live without a spell check.

Sorry, not sure what you mean about using the sticky at the top of the page. is BBcorrector a fix or an alternative to LexSpell?

Any thoughts on eSpell? i've read some negative commentary

Sith_Apprentice 01-02-2008 09:08 PM

I was having the same problem and sent an e-mail to Beiks Technical Support. Here is the response that I received which I have not tried yet.

Hello,
currently, we have a solution for registered users only, which is as follows:

1) set the clock on your BlackBerry to any date before 1/1/2008; you do that via the settings icon from the main menu, then date/time screen.
2) run LexSpell - the one you already have - and it will work this time; enter any wrong word, like ddddd and check it
3) on the next screen, enter your registration key; you can find your key at BEIKS registered users section - get product downloads, activation codes etc.
4) once the registration is confirmed successful, restore the date back to normal

From then on you should not be having a problem, at least until we replace the distributives online to NOT expire on 1/1/2008 for unregistered users.

Try it, it will work :-)

We should be updating the freely downloadable version within the next few days.

It's not meant to cut the functionality with the idea to make you pay for it as we are aware people will hardly be very happy about it.

it has to do with our own product updating policy and it just so happened that it came at a bad time...so taking care of registered customers is a priority.

But we will eventualy get to update the free distributives.
