Default Xplayer Question? - 01-07-2008, 09:26 PM

I was just wondering, how do you forward or rewind with Xplayer? the program has a "Help" area, but it doesn't tell you how to forward the music, or movie.....Also, how do i make it not turn off my back light when watching a movie?
....if anybody knows, i'd really like to know, this program is so sick

I posted this in the RIM Software forum, i didn't know there was a 3rd party forum. Which is why i posted this twice, sorry :(.

This is exactly the feature I was looking for.

I need an MP3 player that can fast forward and rewind at a granular level. I like to listen to podcasts that are an hour or two. The default player won't let you resume where you left off and is terrible at fast forwarding and rewinding.

I am getting an error message if I "do not access the phone"

Uncaught exception: net.rim.device.api.system.controlledaccessexcepton "

Does one have to access the phone?

Thanks in advance

You need to allow phone logs.
Please go to Device options and Edit application permissions.

Irene

Thanks for the reply.

Can I ask where Playlists are being stored? Can I create them on my computer and have them used by your software - (easier typing on desktop/laptop) from an SD card?

FF2, Playlists are stored in device memory only.
For now it's not possible to create playlists on your PC and then copy them to your BB, still we are considering to provide this possibility in future.

Why would a media application need to access phone logs?

This is required for correct reaction of xPlayer to incoming calls.
None of our application will ask you for any kind of confidential information.
The only required option is actually allowing Interactions->Interprocess Community. You can uncheck other options if you wish.

Dear xPlayer users!

You can now use improved version of the application. SHAPE released the new 1.0.1 version with major fixes of issue mentioned by you.

You can download xPlayer from xPlayer :: BlackBerry :: Download or from wap.shapeservices.com

Feel free to post your feedbacks!

I installed OTA and did allow access to phone logs. When starting Xplayer, I am getting the Uncaught exception: net.rim.device.api.system.controlledaccessexcepton error.

I uninstalled and reinstalled, took the battery out, and checked the permissions to make sure it allows the interprocess.

Still getting that same error. Any ideas?

8100 v4.2.1.107
Thanks!

Hello rcg921,

Please clarify your OS version. We will check the issue on our end.

Thank you and regards,

Irene,

I'm on version 4.2.1.107, its a Pearl 8100.

I have installed it, and selected to access phone logs. When I start it, I get that error.

I took the battery out for 30 seconds, I get the same error.

I uninstalled it, took the battery out, reinstalled it, took the battery out, and when I start Xplayer, I get the same error.

I have checked the permissions each time, and the interprocess is allowed.

Thanks for the help.
