Thanks for the update. I just got done loading it up, and it works fine. I wasnt sure if I was supposed to remove the previous version or not first, and just loaded it up "on top" and it seemed to work just fine.

I love the IM+ program too!!!

I'm trying to love IM+ but not having ANY luck. The trial won't register and I'm getting a connection:null error.

BB 7230 on t-mobile NON-BES

IM+ v2.4.3 WAP installed

Wap IP: 216.155.165.150
Wap Gateway Port: 9201
Wap APN: wap.voicestream.com

Firewall: Disabled

My Ramble connection works and so does the t-zones browser and reqwireless. Am I missing something?

MAN I NEED TO START PAYING CLOSER ATTENTION!
WAP IP is 216.155.165.50 NOT .150 - IM+ is working!

Last edited by cbotd : 08-02-2005 at 02:31 PM. Reason: I was not paying attention

Hi,

Do you use these parameters for IM+ application ?
Can you confirm please if our IM+ works on your device with follow
WAP parameters for t-mobile or not:

Wap IP: 216.155.165.150
Wap Gateway Port: 9201
Wap APN: wap.voicestream.com

or

Wap IP: 216.155.165.50
Wap Gateway Port: 9201
Wap APN: wap.voicestream.com

Why do you use WAP version?
Have you tried our regular (MDS/BES enabled) version?

As we know Ramble works using TCP/IP connection, so our regular
version either. It would be really appreciated if you will try and
inform then how it will work.

SHAPE

I got the IM+ app to work using the follwoing configuration.

BB 7230 on t-mobile NON-BES

IM+ v2.4.3 WAP installed

Wap IP: 216.155.165.50
Wap Gateway Port: 9201
Wap APN: wap.voicestream.com

Firewall: Disabled

I used the wap version because I'm not on a BES server. Will the regular IM+ work when not using a BES setup?

Hi,

yes, you can use regular version
please see this issue :

Regular (BES) version works faster and more effective, you can and should use it if any of the following applies to you (for Bell Mobility and Verizon/Sprint please see respective items ):
1. You are corporate user and your organization operates a BlackBerry Enterprise Server (Mobile Data Service must be enabled on the BES)
2. You device's system is Blackberry OS V3.8, V4.0 or higher or you are going to update to these version (you can find here instructions how to upgrade your BlackBerry OS). Enable TCP on your device and select direct TCP/IP in IM+ Settings.
3. Your devise is 6510/7510/7520 and you are Nextel or Telus iDEN user. Use correspondingly Nextel or direct TCP/IP option in IM+ settings.

I'm trying the BES version on my t-mobile 7230 without a corporate BES set up.

The install went well and I can connect to enable the trial license, however, when I go into the Service list, non of the providers will connect. They all just hang on the connecting... screen.

It doesn't lock up my unit, it just doesn't connect to the services.

I'm using TCP and have tried bot port 30000 and 443.

My device firewall is disabled.

Hi,
the difference is very simple. Under TCP settings you will have very
high speed of exchanging messages as there will be no delay. However,
not all devices and operators support TCP connections (check thread
on these forums that describes how to enable TCP on BlackBerry). If
you don't have TCP option, you still can use IM+ WAP version which
works slowly due to delay. Generally we recommend our users to try
IM+ Regular version first in TCP and HTTP modes and then if still no
luck, use Wap version.
