I have been told that ideaMatrix can be synced through Wifi. But it has never worked for me. I have asked on the RexWireless forums but have received no response.

I was just wondering if anyone has ever synced their ideaMatrix data to the RexWireless website through WiFi.

When I had WiFi on my device, I did this. In fact, I installed it, downloaded it, and synced it over WiFi before I had the BlackBerry unlocked.

One thing to check. Go to manage connections, then services status and make sure that it says WiFi for all your data services. I found that sometimes, it would be trying to use EDGE even when I was connected to WiFi.

I think I figured out why I couldn't sync ideaMatrix through WiFi. ideaMatrix will sync through WiFi BUT you need a cellular connection in order for it to work. I was in a location where I had a WiFi connection but no cellular connection and ideaMatrix would not sync.

I am back in a location with both a WiFi and cellular connection and can sync with WiFi. However if I turn off the cellular connection, WiFi syncing with ideaMatrix will not work.

I was in a 'no cellular' area for an extended period of time, so I was never able to keep both the BB and online databases of ideaMatrix in sync. Just something to keep in mind if you use ideaMatrix and end up in an area without a mobile phone connection.
