Default OTA with opera mini - 01-15-2008, 04:41 PM

I was searching the net and came across few users who claim that they have been able to do OTA using Opera Mini 4 and without BB plan. Few of them mentioned that they have been able to do OTA install of gmail mobile and google maps.
When i tried doing this, Opera doesnt invoke the BB browser, but also dosent start the DL.

Anyone else tried this and got it to work?

Why don't you share your search findings that showed positive results? It could be helpful a clue as to what those did to make it work.

Default OTA with opera mini - 01-16-2008, 06:10 PM

sorry about the delay.. in GMT+1 here
The link below is from pinstack.. the member states that he's been able to do OTA with opera mini.. however.. as i stated in my previous posts, i cant seem to do it. What I find odd is that Opera does not invoke the BB browser, but locks over the download button.
Can someone try to see if they can do OTA with opera?

Installed gmail & gmaps through opera mini - PinStack.com

It's actually impossible to do OTA installations with Opera. What the browser actually does is that it prompts you and asks whether or not you want to switch your browser and then it redirects you to the blackberry browser.
