You avatar is too yellow. Will it quit blinking after 15 minutes or do I just have to see that ALL day long?

Anyone else having an issue connecting with WiFi turned off? It seemed fine with WiFi on but as soon as I turned off WiFi I couldnt connect anymore. I tried playing with the settings and running the auto-config but that just hung.

Maybe it was just me. I have 4.2.2.180 OS.

"It has much awaited wifi support , buddy icons for msn, gtalk and jabber and few bug fixes. Added couple of new settings under preferences. One to set the wifi on/off and the other for setting up double line buddylist."

No, you don't have to uninstall the previous version. But after you install the beta, it will ask you to reboot and you should be all set.

This is what I did. I am liking this beta update. The 2 line buddy info is nice too. Having the icon is a nice addition as well.

I am liking this version as well...the 2 line is huge. i like it a lot. The addition of icons in apps other than AIM is a plus as well....I am also like the new icon.. A LOT!

I am running out of things I want to see added?!

For those who have used this BETA release - is it fairly stable? many bugs? I'm not interested in the WiFi, but the MSN buddy icons sound interesting.

It's pretty stable, I've been on it since it came out yesterday and I haven't gotten disconnected or anything. Overall

I've downloaded the .jad file for my 8320. How do I go about installing it through Desktop Manager since it is not .alx?

I'm having the same issue with not being able to connect over EDGE. Connecting over wifi works great but nothing over EDGE. Anyone get past this or figure this out? I can't even ping the server.

Edit: Ok...I'm not sure what I did but it finally works. I tried auto-configuration (while on EDGE) and at first it didn't work. I tried switching from BIS to BES to TCP to no avail. Exited out, tried again...nothing. Sent an email to Beejive support. Then tried auto-configuration again (while on EDGE only) and it finally worked and logged in.

Right now my settings are:

Mobile Network Transport: TCP
WiFi Option: Wifi Preferred

I really don't know what I did as these were the settings in there to begin with...

ok so I pointed my browser and it only gave me the option to download version 1.3 which I already have. I'm guessing I have to go and do this through DM? is it worth the trip downstairs?

Thanks John, what's the advantage of having the text so large?

Is that larger text a new option in this beta? I don't see any option changing text size in mine, but I have the current release version. My eyes would like the larger text also.

It's not really bigger text than it was but each contact gets two lines to accommodate the buddy icon on the right. I like it.

Ok, cool. The screenshots are larger than the actual screen which makes the text look big.

Also, there's different shading between each contact that doesn't show on the screenshot, too.

It sounds like this beta is pretty stable. Has anyone tried it on the 8703e? I'm not normally one for beta software unless I can run it on a virtual machine, like on my PC. And I don't like to take risks with my precious

You can set this up for JiveTalk in Profiles, that option has always been there.

I haven't chatted with anyone on it but it's been running and connected for several hours. I had a little trouble getting it to connect over EDGE but after running the auto configuration (a couple times) finally got it working over EDGE and WiFi.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8100/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Tried this version for a while, but went back to 1.0.3. Too many problems signing in and out. I like the look though. Looking forward to a stable release.
