Default A new feature I'd like to see in JiveTalk - 01-16-2008, 07:53 AM

Hey everyone! First I'd like to start off with how much I LOOOOOVEEE JiveTalk! It's made my life so much simpler than using googletalk transports, especially after me talking up a storm on how awesome GTalk was! Still awesome, but even better is JiveTalk!

Anyways, I love it, works great. But I would like to ask for one simple feature. Before JT I used IM+, and one thing I REALLY liked about IM+ was the 1/2 vibration! That was really useful. I would REALLY like to see that in the next version! Is anyone on board ?

JiveTalk makes the BB world a better place .

For those of us who have not used IM+, can you explain what 1/2 vibration is?

Ohh yeah! Sorry. You know what it feels like when you get an e-mail or an instant message. It's a full vibration. A half vibration is exactly what it sounds like It vibrates for half the time! So it's a quick little vib that you feel. I honestly think that for IMing, which for me is ... pretty frequent, that it should use a half vib. It feels better. Just download IM+ and you'll see ;) it's wonderful! But JT kicks a$$! It's way better application wise.

Can't you just edit the JiveTalk section in the active profile to do a vibration? I don't believe you can set the length, but you can set it to vibrate when you get a message.

No that's the thing. It's a HALF vibration. It's something I've never seen in a Blackberry! It's not defined in profiles. If you go try IM+ you'll see what I mean. It feels really nice, and not as long lasting as a normal vib! You'd like it Believe me ;). By the way, in profiles you can only edit if it can vib or not. While im+ can make it half vib in its options really cool!

I'd like to see support for the new Google Chat with multiple people as well as an IRC client.

any chat featuring multiple people will eat up your memory on your device. it would be really nice, but if you have more than 4 or 5 people in a chat in BBM your blackberry can have issues

Actually yeah! But I don't think they'll do that. RIM is already giving them a hard enough time with the whole application ribbon, let alone letting them make bb messenger obsolete. But oh well. It would be nice . Ans always, the whole saving energy algorithm could always be made better and better to the point where its virtually nothing! Googletalk for instance had a great battery alg.

K
