Default Free Spell Check for Nextel 7520 users - 07-02-2005, 05:12 PM

I have some good news for Nextel 7520 users - we just made available to you a free device-based spell check application!

You can download it OTA from dynoplex.com/nextel_spellcheck or from the Download Applications section of Nextel Wireless Web on your BlackBerry Internet Browser.

Happy spelling .

Yea, I managed to get it on my TMO 7290 but the books are empty and I see no icons or nothing on the menus... Hopefully they will add more carriers later.

For non-Nextel users there is always our usual eSpell. It is not free, but you can choose different dictionaries and spell in other languages.

When I click the trackwheel to get the spell check I see 2 instances of Check Spelling. Clicking on either one works so it's not a big problem, just wondering why 2 would show up?

Now I had 2 Auth's but only have 1 instance under options(for settings) and only 1 instance when I click the trackwheel to use the prog. But I did notice that when I look under options > spell Checker it is empty? Don't know why?

You will need to download the following files:

http://dynoplex.com/OTA/nextel_spell...spellcheck.cod
http://dynoplex.com/OTA/nextel_spell...dict_00_00.cod
http://dynoplex.com/OTA/nextel_spell...dict_02_00.cod
http://dynoplex.com/OTA/nextel_spell...dict_02_01.cod
http://dynoplex.com/OTA/nextel_spell...components.cod
http://dynoplex.com/OTA/nextel_spell...oplex_html.cod
http://dynoplex.com/OTA/nextel_spell...ex_speller.cod

Save these to a folder (preferrably within the directory structure of your currently OS install - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\) and then use javaloader to load them (javaloader -usb load *.cod) from command-line (you have to navigate to the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\ directory from command-line).

Sergey,
I have a BB7520 that doesn't have the Nextel Web Browswer. I m sure you know that the NOL Browser will not work, and my Reqwireless Webviewer will not download it, once it gets to your download site, I get an error that I am unable to dowload the file from here due to JAVA security. Is there a way that this can be made an application that can be installed using the comventional Blackberry Desktop App Loader. I think you will find that there are many of us that may run into this problem, due to the way the Web Browser was released. (or should I say in my case, was not been released)

All,

There was an issue with the corrupted jad file for the application being cached by one of the download servers. It is corrected now and you can re-install the aplication to get rid of the two options. Simply go to Options->Applications and remove the app. Then go back to the download page an install it. All should be fine then.

As far as desktop installer, we should post it soon on our site. How come you do not have a Blackberry Internet Browser? I thought all of 7520's have them. Did you try upgrading to .249?

You should have an icon on your main BB screen - usually after calendar but before Help. when your focus is on it - words Internet Browser will appear at the bottom of the screen.

Try going to options and verifing what version if you have 4.0.0.249 than you should be able to see if it you have something ealier than you will need to upgraded the handheld software.
