Default Yahoo Messenger 2 & MSN Contacts?? - 01-18-2008, 05:03 PM

I recently saw that Yahoo Messenger (desktop) could handle MSN contacts. Does anyone know if the same is true for Yahoo (for Blackberry). Jivetalk looks great and I'm enjoying the very long free trial period. However, since I only have active Yahoo and MSN accts and do very little chatting, I'm considering the free Yahoo Messenger above Jivetalk.

I was very much hoping it worked, but here's what I've experienced.

-MSN contacts added in the desktop messenger do show on your BB, but always show offline.
-MSN contacts DO receive messages sent to them.
-You DO NOT receive messages sent from MSN contacts to your BB.

So, frankly it doesn't work. Not receiving messages from MSN contacts is clearly the killer.

thx nmadd... it would have nice to be able to use a free messenger program but with your feedback, I decided to buy JiveTalk. Maybe now that I've paid for JiveTalk, Yahoo will fix it so it handles MSN contacts properly.

Yeah, bummer. I was frustrated to test this and see that I could see my MSN contacts online and that they could receive my messages, but that their return IMs did not reach me. Those communications are just floating out there in space I guess.

I was wondering, I don't have a blackberry plan or a data plan so when signing on to msn on on wifi, is there anyway to log onto a different account? Seems like everytime I log on to msn I don't have the option to change to a different username. It always takes me to the same account. If anyone knows how I can log on to a different account please help. Thanks in advance.
