Is there a software download that allows me to view web pages containing flash animation. I have downloaded Reqwireless viewer but it does not.

There's no software download for the Blackberry that will allow it to display desktop-strength Flash animations. The Blackberry browser does support "Embedded Media (Flash, SVG)." I asked someone at Macromedia about this and was told that some cell phones support a limited version of Flash that isn't the same as the desktop version of Flash. I'm not sure if any sites are supporting it just yet.

Very untrue!!

Blackberry's can definately open/view Flash documents w/ the Internet Browser and/or BlackBerry Browser, they are not enabled by default, so you have to go into your browser and choose options and enable Flash viewing!!

Enjoy!

Could you point me to a Flash site that's compatible with the Blackberry browser?

1st you can look at any forum that has animated avatars and/or animated smilies.

Those are usually animated GIF files, which are supported by the Blackberry browser. Flash files have a .swf extension, as opposed to a .gif extension.

Assuming you're running Windows, you can right-click on the animated avatar, select "Save Image As..." from the pull-down menu, and see the filename. Right-clicking on a Flash graphic brings up the Macromedia Flash Player (assuming you have it installed).

http://mobile.blackberry.com is one "SVG" animated site.
Enter this in your BlackBerry Browser (not WAP Browser)

There is software that converts Flash files into SVG files compatible with BlackBerry Browser, so it can be done.

Thanks,

Is that software generally available, or is it part of the Plazmic developer's kit? I would be interested in converting some of my Flash files to SVG files.

i don't see anywhere in my BB where I have a BB Browser. I have the Cingular Browser and an "Internet Browser" but nothing else. Neither of the browsers have an option for Flash viewing. Can somebody point me in the right direction?
