I don't exactly how it works, but have you looked at changing input language. Unless you or someone has uninstalled languages, look at options > language and change input language. I'm assuming the finish language optioin is there. (EDIT: but maybe not. I just looked and there is less there than I remembered.)

you may need to install additional languages. let me check the KB for language support, one sec
i do not think the device supports Finnish. Currently Blackberries are not offered in Finland. BlackBerry Search Results

Sith, are all languages installed by default, or only some subset? I'm wondering if there are more that can be added with apploader.

I am sure at some point the languages can be loaded via app loader. All those i know are not default on the device, though on the page it lists what is included in different releases of the OS. IE, multilanguage includes about 20 languages it appears

Quote:
When you install the BlackBerry Device Software, the language bundles that are available depend on your service provider.

By default, the following configuration options for language bundles are available for installation:

English only - Most carriers in the United States only offer this package.

Multi-language - This package includes English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Hungarian, Czech, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, European Portuguese, Korean, Turkish, Greek, Catalan, Afrikaans, Danish, Dutch, Swedish, and Semitic (which includes Arabic and Hebrew).

This package is for carriers in Canada, Europe and other international carriers.

English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), and Japanese - Carriers in China and Japan offer this package.

English, French, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese - This is offered by Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) network service providers.

Note: Generally, language support is cumulative in new software releases. In most cases, new software releases include languages that were supported in prior versions.

In some cases you need to load a certain OS, like to have the Chinese alphabet, only certain OSs include it.

In the case of Hebrew, someone has developed that as separate add-in. I don't know about Finnish.
