Is there a way to easily turn off and on the data connection on the Rogers blackberry pearl? Or a third party app that will do this? I am just looking to ensure that my phone is not consuming data behind my back. thanksb

i do not think there are any apps out there, but try a search of the aftermarket software section. you can set one of your convenience keys to options then go to mobile network and turn data off. it might save you a few seconds that way.

The "data services off" in mobile network is the only way I know of to stop the data all together and still have use of the phone.

else from options -> mobile network -> data off. I haven't seen anything that disables data..
If what sith said, if a convenience key can be assigned to it, that would be the easiest way.
