Default Roblock || BlackBerry Theft Recovery Software - 02-18-2008, 03:58 AM

The World class anti-thief and contacts recovery application now available for BlackBerry phones.

First theft recovery software for BlackBerry with contacts retrieval, roblock protects against theft and helps to recover the phone contacts stored on the lost/stolen phone.

When an unauthorized sim is inserted, Roblock sends a sms in stealth mode revealing the phone number thereby enabling you to recover your mobile phone. Roblock also enables you to recover your "contacts" saved in Lost/Stolen mobile. Roblock uses simple SMS based communication system for retrieval thus avoiding the need of Bluetooth, GPRS or GPS for securing your device and data.

You can Try the application for free at : Innovative Mobile Softwares For Business and Individuals - The D-Studio DexMobile

And Buy from : Handango.com/Dexmobile.com

Thanks!

Don't take this personally Dex, but that woman you have in the header graphic looks like the guy next to her is her husband and she just found out that he slept with her sister. I know you were probably going for a serious business look, but she looks PISSED!

DexMobile-

Does the device send you an e-mail or something to confirm that the wipe was successfully initiated?

In other words, if my BB is stolen and I initiate the remote wipe, I'd like to have some sort of confirmation that it worked. Otherwise, I'd always wonder whether or not it was successful, or if the thief has access to the information contained on my BB.

Especially in light of the issues referenced above with the escape key closing out of the program, I think it would be incredibly useful if the program could send an e-mail to a designated e-mail address to confirm the wipe. Obviously, this couldn't be done AFTER the wipe, but maybe as a beginning step it could send an e-mail saying that the wipe process has BEGUN. At least it would be something to give the user peace of mind knowing that the wipe most likely worked.

They just sent out announcements for Version 2, which still won't work on my 8330. I bought it when I had an 8830 and was able to activate that one while in CDMA mode but now it doesn't recognise my internet connection and says I need to activate Edge.
I would still like the remote wipe functionality but they can't make it work, for some reason.

Dex - can I give away my code? I'm not asking for a refund or looking to sell it just wondering if I can transfer the registration code without giving up all of my personal information...

How should one go about doing a remote wipe when using BES?

I tried to wipe my BB with Roblock, but then as quick as the contacts were being deleted from the device, they were also being deleted from the server as well.

Is it a dumb question to ask if it is possible to wipe the device in such a way that all my info isn't also wiped from the BES server?

Thanks.

You would have your BES admin wipe your device, not with RobLock.

For BES users it's an option in the Admin interface for the device - I can't tell you precisely where because I'm not supporting BES these days, but it's in there.

I'm using this on my Curve and I have to say it's amazing, as well. It's great piece of mind. BES can remote wipe but not via sms and won't wipe the media card. I like the idea of setting of an alarm. It's quite cool.

Is it stable on your Bold? Some reported just a quick vibe for the alarm sometimes and not the audible alarm. I think it needs more work for the Bold.

I agree, memory card wipe is a very nice feature. Then you add in the ability to recover my contacts, send an sms to the phone & remote wipe, very nice!

It's stable from my initial tests. Running .147 and it will send an sms to the phone, initiate a phone call, give GPS location, and alarm works without a hitch (both vibration and audible alert).

Truly an amazing piece of software and for only $ 9.95, well worth the investment.

2.0.9.2 stable on 8310 .55 as well. Works mostly as advertised, including the remote lock and unlock features. No loud lock alarm as indicated in the web interface manual, however. Regardless, this prized piece of software is highly recommended !

The only major annoyance to RB 2.0 is in the web UI whereby the user cannot change their configured email address in 'Profile Settings' to suit the needs of changing conditions.

So does this mean that for BES users, Roblock will also always wipe the data from the server as well? I would love to be able to remotely wipe my BB but would not want to loose everything in my exchange account on the server and my pc's etc.

Well, I took the plunge and bought a license key. So far, it isn't working. The web console can't find/connect to the BB, and despite sending the BB the appropriate command (RB+ WebConnect), those emails aren't getting through to it.

It seems to somehow have stopped sending/receiving on the email address I used to register the phone to. I can see a pile of emails in my hotmail inbox, but none of them get to the phone.

Have raised a trouble-ticket, so here's hoping to a quick reply.
Edit: Received an email suggesting it was the APN settings that was causing the issue, so added them in but still no luck. Waiting on their next suggestions.

question: if your blackberry captor is aware of this program, can they just delete it from the applications menu and render the whole apps functions completely useless? or is the uninstall password protected?

Blueenigma, you've triple posted your experience on the board now. That's rude and actually not allowed here.
http://www.blackberryforums.com/rant...e-roblock.html

I think deluging us with posts as you did with emails to Dexmobile won't solve your issue. Give it another day.

I posted twice only. That is not a deluge. It is one more than once.

To clarify, I posted HERE because:
#1: you pointed out that my initial post was in the wrong forum
#2: your Moderator colleague closed the thread

This is certainly the appropriate place since it is a thread dealing specifically with the application I have a problem with. I am not using profanity, I am not being rude to anyone, I am not using poor chat room etiquette. I am merely sharing information. Also, a review of the boards reveals that this problem is not unique to me. Why you are so persistent in quashing information about DexMobile that is not positive is highly unfair. Moreover, it is unfair to the Blackberry Community.

Also, you referred to me as a guy in the earlier post. I am a woman.
=============================================
On a more constructive note, anyone have similar problems and found a resolution???

Three times, ma'am. I deleted the third completely. Three times. Now I have deleted this one as well.

Your original post was moved to rants and raves. It is there where it belongs, considering its content.

You are being rude--in the original thread, as well as in the 'reported post' where you took another moderator here to task quite harshly. Male or female, I use the 'he' generically having no idea which you were.
