how do you close it, I have it on my 8130 and when i click the menu it doesn't have a "close" feature same thing with the doc alert.

anyone have any ideas? Also is it possible to delete the doc alert and just have epocrates?

It's a program used by physicians in the medical field. I am presuming that Menu>Close or End will work and if not hit the escape key. I can't verify until I plan with it on a docs BB.

I'm a Nurse and I have Epocrates on my Pearl and use it everyday. It is very handy having a drugbook in your pocket. I don't see any way to close either program or delete DocAlert. I wouldn't want to close Epocrates because it autoupdates about 3am every day. When I had to carry my clunky palm around I had to hotsync it to my computer to update the program, so it only got updated when I remembered to do it. Now it is always up to date and I don't have to worry about it.

I agree. I have had it since it came out for Blackberry and it does not close but has posed no problems. great program for those of us in the medical field.

After thinking about docAlerts it seems to me that during the DL you are given a choice to sign up for the docAlerts part of the program. If you delete Epocrates from your blackberry and go to epocrates to get it again maybe you can decline DocAlerts. Just a thought. I kinda like because it keeps you up to date on medical issues.

The ability to store its huge database on a MicroSD card would be a great enhancement -- it is currently too large for many users to load into main device memory.

I will not use epocrates because it uses too much memory and keeps the program open. This will become a memory robber and leak.

Each to there own I guess. Folks just need to consider the pros and cons before installing it. I explained in my prior post why it has to stay open and it is not an issue for me. In my line of work it is a tool that is just too valueable not to have in my pocket

As I said, I have had it since it came out and it has given me no memory robbing problems. Yes it takes a bit of memory and I wish it could use the card for the DB. Why not give it a try? It can always be deleted.

By the way, there's an online version for those who don't want to store the db on their device.

Have you actually been able to access the online version from your BlackBerry? I have been unsuccessful...

I have a pearl 8130 with OS v 4.5 and can't seem to install epocrates. What OS do you have on your pearl?

likewise - i've been trying to access the site and it opens, but there's no box to type my search in. Works fine on a PC though
