Angry telenav on 7520 - problem - 07-14-2005, 02:49 PM

I have been working with telenav and nextel for the last three weeks without any help. I get the message "unable to connect to telenav server". They say they have a server problem and are working on it but its been more than two weeks. Every time I call I have to go through the long trouble shooting proceedure before they will elevate me to the engineer level. Then they say they will get back and never do. I'm feed up, anyone have any ideas on how to fix it? It worked for two weeks great before the current issue. Thanks, TomG

Maybe try unistalling it and then reinstalling. I had lost some audio on my TeleNav, and that fixed it right up.

Make sure that the firewall is disabled on the Blackberry. I once enabled it thinking I was doing something good only to find out that I couldn't use the Telenav software. Nextel and Telenav couldn't figure it out either. I use it everyday works like a charm.

I too have been having the unable to connect to telenav error. I have never been able to use the telenav service. I can close out of the download sound and icons and use the waypoint and compass function without any issues.

I have been working with telenav support without any updates for 3 weeks. I have called multiple times and have had to go through the same support steps over and over again to even get close to the next level of support. I just found out today that after being told that the case was expedited to level 3 on the 14th it was actually only expedited on the 22nd. I have been promised on multiple occasions that I should receive a call back on the status of the request in a few days but have not received one call.

I would like this service to work but when a company deals with their customers this way it makes it hard to signup for service if additional issues may happen.

I have tried the following multiple times with no luck:

Restarts
Master radio restarts
Network time copies
Reinstalls
BES security policy updates

tgarfin are you using a BES server? Did you change anything to the way you blackberry was setup? If you are using a BES server do you know if your network admin change any of the policy settings?

I have not had a lick of trouble. YET. I have only been using it for a week (alot though) Great program. I almost bought a GPS unit for the car until I found out about this.

Cheers!

Every now and then, I experience a similar problem, i.e. I can't find a satellite, or I can't access the TeleNav server (more common). When this happens, I remove the battery for a few minutes and then reinsert it. This has always cured my problem.

I've been using the Telenav service since day one with my Nextel i730 and continue to use it almost everyday with my Blackberry 7520 with no problems. Again the only issue that I had was when I enabled the firewall on the Blackberry. They have come a long way and I have to say that it works awesome.
