Default sending entire sms conversation to email - 03-01-2008, 08:09 AM

This may have been asked and I can't find an answer or thread anywhere after searching....

Is there anyway (or third party software) to send/forward an entire sms conversation to an email. I see the option to forward an sms to an email/sms/pin option but only sends in the most recent message to. There are some conversations I'd like to forward in their entirety.

Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.

i dont believe you can do this. the device shows the conversation because you havent gotten rid of previous messages, but it isnt a true conversation, which is why you can only see one when you email it out.

As a round-about solution you could do a selective backup of just your SMS messages and use an ipd reader to extract the data ... you'd have to filter by phone number to find the threads ... a lot of work ...

I don't think any sort packaged application exists today that will do it all in one step.

Yes, there is such an application that sends all inbound SMS to email.

I no longer have it installed but it was from Europe somewhere (parts of the header and such were in a different language). I'll do a search and see if I can find a link but I found out about it on this board, so I should be able to find it.

(I know the original poster wanted the entire conversation to go to email, but this just does inbound SMS, which will be fine for some users).

Default archiving SMS conversations - 07-03-2008, 07:05 AM

Good news / bad news.

There is a solution that does it - though, they currently have shut off all downloads while they fix a particularly difficult to find bug.

I've just found out about it, so have not been able to download, or try the solution, though, it says it does what we all want (uh, NEED!).

Also, it doesn't look like it does this for stuff before you install their software... but can't be sure. I hope it does.

Dexrex: www[dot]dexrex[dot]com

On their front page, make sure to click the link that says "for blackberry users" - it tells you why they're not available (though the page isn't dated, so can't tell when this started, or what their timeframe is).

I hope to have this functionality in the next beta of BBText2IM that I am working on. Give it a try.
