Thumbs up Noah Bible Reader 4

Please Login to Remove!

Noah version 4 is out of Beta! I was one of the Beta users and it's an awesome program. Bibles can now be stored on the external card. There are also several other improvements over version 3.

Check out this site:

BlackBerry Bible viewer - introducing Noah Bible Study for BlackBerry

Enjoy!

I tried to choose just media card and reader during my instalation but the app wouldn't show up in the loaded. Finally and installed with media card and device and it showed. Was I missing the point? I thought it would only be on the media card but I appear to have it both places????

I am having horrible insomnia tonight, so here I am and will try to answer. However, I am not sure I quite understand what you mean. The program, Noah, does go on the device. The bible text can be loaded onto the media card, like music can. Noah only shows as 87K on my device, so it doesn't take up much room. The bible, or several different versions in my case (LOL) take up a lot of space.

With the previous version of Noah, I was only able to keep one version of the Bible on my BB and I was continually having to keep an eye on my available memory. Now, with the text of the Bible residing on the media card and only a small program in internal memory, I have been able to add several more programs to my BB and still have plenty of internal memory.

Did I answer your question? Or did I misunderstand your question? I really do think you will love Noah!

That discount is only for additional Bibles, should you choose to purchase them. It does not apply to the Noah Bible Reader program.

EDIT: and Wanda's right, the program will still be on your device, no way around that, but the Bibles, whether purchased or public domain, can be on your media card.

EDIT #2: This is a very nice app. It's great to be able to store multiple Bibles on the media card and not worry about chewing up device memory.

That is correct...the discount for Noah itself is only for registered owners of Noah 3.

And yes, you can't get the application itself on a media card. It's a BlackBerry OS design limitation, not Noah limitation.

BlackBerries treat the media card as data only storage, no execution permission rights whatsoever.

That may change in future, of course, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Bobby,

Will Beiks be putting out any bible study resources for the Noah? In particular, I am looking for the Treasury of Scripture Knowledge, Easton's, Torrey's, etc.

From the Browser on your BB, go to BlackBerry direct downloads from BEIKS and follow the links.

Or, on your PC go to BlackBerry Bible viewer - introducing Noah Bible Study for BlackBerry and follow the directions on that page.

Like most BB apps, the registration key is tied to the PIN. I think I read on their site where you get something like 2 PIN/reg key updates per year for free... after that they charge you...

So if you are talking about upgrading your BB over time, I'd say no worries. If you're looking to operate two copies concurrently on two different BBs, I'd say that's against the license agreement. (But I am not a lah-yer and I don't work for Beiks.)
