Hello,

The program cannot be used to sync Gmail or other third party information.
The curve is compatible as any BB over OS 4.2.1 was designed in mind. The program was modded to be used to our servers and is unique in that respect.

Thank you.

Would it work if I configure gmail in outlook then sync to you?

Good morning,

Can you please contact ThinkPost support - we need to pull a log from you and see why this is happening. Thanks!

Vince, I've noticed other applications reporting the port is in use when I try to use them. Example, Berry411 couldn't do my search today because the port was in use. Same with Live Search and my jive talk has been logging out with a port error.

Does this application release the ports when it's not using them?

Good evening,

The application does release the port - I use Beyond 411 and JiveTalk - and leave Jivetalk on 24X7 - with no problems.

If you can please contact support with the log, that'd be great - I'm sure we can get you squared away. Thanks.

Then it must not be this program that is hogging the port, next time it happens I will send over my logs. Note, I will be sending the phone logs and not the application log since it is other applications that can't get a port out.

A couple of other observations I made, I think it would be nice if this program would start and stop with outlook. I have to VPN into the job to get my mail. There are times when I use my laptop and it is not connected via VPN to the job. When it tries to sync under these conditions I get a pop up error saying it couldn't connect to outlook. I know that, outlook isn't running. I was thinking it would be nice if it didn't try to sync when outlook is not running or if it did, it would do it silently without that pop up.

Also, the phone does a similar thing if it tries to sync and I am on a call. This means it can't get a data connection out. I get a pop up on my phone saying error while trying to sync etc... I think it'd be nice if I didn't get that message and it just tried again later. I also would like to see it keep the last sucessful update on the status screen instead of indicating the last attempt failed.

I think in the end most of us want an application that silently does its thing and will only wave at us under catastrophic failure. We get enough work on the berry with appts, emails, text, calls, IM's etc... I don't need it to tell me I was on the phone so it couldn't sync.

Good morning,

I always love coming to work and seeing messages like these. Thank you for the suggestions! We always look forward to serve our customers better.

I understand where you are coming from when you mention you get bugged by your BB enough. Don't we all!

From what I understand, the intent with the popups was to lessen the amount of questions we get when someone says "event so and so" didn't sync.

The flip side of that is what you mentioned - so I'll pass it onto the development team for sure.

Thanks again,
Vincent L.

Thank you for the message. As far as I remember, categories is in development and the next version will not cause any problems when syncing with categories. Thanks!

I really wish there was a trial period, I would be more willing to try it out. I cant just see throwing money away on something I may or may not like.

Most other applications give you that trial. Is there a reason you opted not to?

Good afternoon,

It really comes down to the man hours. Each order that comes in is manually processed for credit card fraud. By offering trials, it would not pay. The second reason is we want a very specific type of user, a serious one. We, at one point, did do trials, but we found a signicant higer amount of problems, such as spammers abusing the system, and a lot of users who are simply playing around. We would prefer to offer serious users with the best service out there. I hope this clears things up.

It's a compromise, we agree, and its also why we do month to month service, and no contracts, etc. We stand by our product. This is the best solution we've come across so far. I'm certainly open to new ideas. Thanks!

I understand you standing by the product. But Maybe in the stance you should offer a money back guarantee instead of the free trial.

Dont get me wrong, I am all for paying people for their work. I have purchased many applications and was proud to pay the money. On the same leg I have paid for a few that if I had gotten a trial I would have never bought it.

So I guess I will stay with your competition when they roll out the final product. Thanks for listening.

Thank you for your comment. Money back guarantees are given under certain conditions, such as a product that doesn't work on the OS etc. we try to excel in customer service and are not here to keep money if we do not feel like we deserve it. Hope that helps.

Not really, to be honest it sounds quite conceded. Its sounds to me like you have a product that you believe is the best and no one can top it. So we will only give you your money back if its on our terms not the consumers.

If thats the way you feel thats fine and I can live with that. But I and I would assume many others who might have loved your product wouldnt try it because there are no written guarantees.

I think your product is a great idea but I wont ever know. I am not one to take someones word on products. I have to have a first hand knowledge of it first. I will agree that is a great flaw in me, but I have been burnt to many times to trust anything on the net with out trying first.

Again thanks for listening and thanks for your instant replies.

Good afternoon,

Thank you for your message. It essentially comes down to the balance between good users like yourself and those who are ruining the situation for all.

The problem of spammers is very large - to the point that even our test account is being used to spam. That's pretty low, and you can imagine how bad it once was with the trials we were giving out. We did curb most of the spam by restricting access, but then the # of legitimate users were so low it didn't pay.

I do apologize it comes down to this. Unfortunately, we will not be changing this policy - and I hope I made my reasons clear.

If a user wanted to try our product with a specific set of terms for a money back guarantee, just send our support an email - and most likely it will be approved. Then, the user can rest easy knowing they can get their $4 back.

Hope that helps and is a good compromise. I appreciate your insight as always.
